Learning Lessons

Aside

“Whenever anything negative happens to you, there is a deep lesson concealed within it, although you may not see it at the time.”

Eckhart Tolle

I sincerely believe that there is a reason for everything in life even though we may not know it at the time.  Look for the positive outcome later down the road and realize that particular thing or occurrence, although painful at the time, will make you stronger and better for it.

Have a Blessed year in 2016!

What If …

This is a lovely poem from Carol Hand and expresses what I feel. Everyone is here for a purpose, a reason and we should embrace that and love each other.

Voices from the Margins

Carol A. Hand

What if –
We believed everyone is born
With a special gift to offer the world
Each one has a unique and necessary role to play
That no one else can fill

What if –
We welcomed and nurtured each new child
Enfolded them in love and warmth
Helped them developed their gifts
Encouraged them to share their sprit song joyfully

What if –
We learned that all life is sacred
And found ways to live in peace
To tend our gardens together and share
To blend our voices in harmony

Dreaming of possibilities is the first step …

Kayaking

Aside

The other morning my husband and I were able to take our kayaks out to a local state park.  It is so peaceful and tranquil on the water that when your mind and heart is a bit cluttered, you go and engage in this activity and instantly you feel lightened and refreshed.

This park is wonderful and very large but we seldom see people out enjoying the beauty of the park.  But this day we did actually, see quite a few people on the lake.  Here are some random photos that had interested me as we paddled along the shoreline.

1607This little guy was next to me on the dock as I waited for my husband to join me. Also, saw some geese feathers.16141626Blue Heron, he was posing for me!16271639I was loving the interesting trees popping out of the water.1642This one had some interesting bark or maybe a fungus?164616361638These turkey vultures were warming themselves in the morning sun. There were some hanging around with some mallard ducks in the shallows.164816531650All in all, it was a nice relaxing outing.

Opinion

Aside

“OPINION is really the lowest form of human knowledge.  It requires no accountability, no understanding.  The highest form of knowledge is EMPATHY, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another’s world.  It requires profound purpose larger than the self-kind of understanding. ”  -Bill Bullard

Having empathy to understand another’s path can be a difficult task but one that we all need to remember to try to do.  Don’t be too quick to have an opinion or pass judgement on someone.  After all, we haven’t walked in their shoes and we are all on our own individual journeys.

Walk good and enjoy your day!

Remember your GRACES!

This is a great reminder in how to behave and interact as a human being who is compassionate and caring towards all 🙂 I love this!

Remember your GRACES!

Today’s message is this:

When interacting with those who are either totally unaware of what is going on around them, or choosing to close their minds, ears and eyes to it because they do not want to “go there”, there are a few ways of ensuring that they treat you well and not abusively, disrespectfully or offhandedly.

First, use Grace, Respect, Acknowledgment, Clarity, Equality and Sincerity.
Use these for all of your interactions.
Secondly, Breathe, breathe, BREATHE!!
Third, Remain centered and calm.
Fourth, Look every one you speak to in the eye with Love, kindness and understanding. (They are where they are meant to be, respect that.)
Fifth, Send out Love to all around, yes all, whomever they are, whatever they have done or have not done that you consider wrong or bad. In time, they will be “called out”…

Just Breathe

“When you get into your car, shut the door and be there for just half a minute. Breathe, feel the energy inside your body, look around at the sky, the trees. The mind might tell you, ‘I don’t have time.’ But that’s the mind talking to you. Even the busiest person has time for 30 seconds of space.”

Eckhart Tolle

You just might notice things you didn’t before if you take a moment and BREATHE and look around at the beauty of the world.  These tiny flowers were growing in rocks but seemed to be determined to make it this season.  Enjoy your day!

A Few Seconds

This is a wonderful post from Hannah about taking those extra seconds and moments to just be there and enjoy the moment. Here is a quote from Eckhard Tolle
“When you wash your hands, when you make a cup of coffee, when you’re waiting for the elevator – instead of indulging in thinking, these are all opportunities for being there as a still, alert presence.”

Zebra's Child

I am taking a Mind Body class from Kaiser, my health care provider.  It is an eight week class that meets once a week, and explores our mind-body connection.  We learn, we share, and we discover simple practices that build on each other that can reduce our stress and improve the quality of our lives.  That sounds simple, and to some degree it is.  But I can tell you that these simple practices, done over time, can effect changes both subtle and deep.  Each week we are  given “homework,” something specific to do mindfully over the course of the next week.  In the third session we were given the assignment of noticing something during the week that gave us joy and then taking a few extra seconds — just a few – and more fully noticing that joy.  Taking it in.  Standing there and just absorbing how beautiful, or delightful…

May you always feel loved~

I wanted to share a poem that someone on FB had shared.  It is such a warm thoughtful way to send out good vibrations to the world.

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world
You may not always understand.

May the pain you have known and conflict you have experienced
Give you the strength to walk through life
Facing each new situation with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those whose love and understanding
Will always be there, even when you feel most alone.

May you discover enough goodness in others
To believe in a world of peace.

May a kind word, a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours
Every day of your life,
And may you give these gifts as well as receive them.

Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

Teach love to those who know hate,
And let that love embrace you as you go into the world.

May the teaching of those you admire become part of you,
So that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched
And who have touched yours are always a part of you,
Even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter that is more important than it’s
form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters,
But instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.

Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around
you.

Realize that each person has limitless abilities,
But each of us is different in our own way.
What you may feel you lack in one regard
May be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
May become one of your strengths in the future.

May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by
yourself,
And not be dependent on another’s judgement of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved

Purpose in Life

“Your inner purpose is to awaken. It is as simple as that. You share that purpose with every other person on the planet – because it is the purpose of humanity.”  Eckhart Tolle

Too many people are sleep walking their way through life.  We need to wake up and see the beauty of creation and yes, the beauty that humanity can bring.  We are creative beings and can love absolutely and completely.   Having compassion and love for our fellow man would bring understanding that we are all just trying live a happy life.  Isn’t that what we all wish for ourselves?  In doing so, we could wipe out a lot of ills of the world.

Wake Up~
