The other morning my husband and I were able to take our kayaks out to a local state park. It is so peaceful and tranquil on the water that when your mind and heart is a bit cluttered, you go and engage in this activity and instantly you feel lightened and refreshed.
This park is wonderful and very large but we seldom see people out enjoying the beauty of the park. But this day we did actually, see quite a few people on the lake. Here are some random photos that had interested me as we paddled along the shoreline.
This little guy was next to me on the dock as I waited for my husband to join me. Also, saw some geese feathers.Blue Heron, he was posing for me!I was loving the interesting trees popping out of the water. This one had some interesting bark or maybe a fungus? These turkey vultures were warming themselves in the morning sun. There were some hanging around with some mallard ducks in the shallows. All in all, it was a nice relaxing outing.
Kayaking is my new favorite thing to do, after snorkeling..

It is so relaxing and just getting back to nature. I love to snorkel, too, and need to get an underwater camera one day 🙂

How beautiful! Kayaks are on our wish list as we both love the water, nature, and exploring. Oh the places you’ll be able to go with your kayaks when/if you make it to PR! The sky’s the limit!! So jealous! 😉 Too fun!!

Serene setting – for me, this type of outing is pure bliss, especially when shared with a kindred spirit. Barb and I are now at Casa Loca on the coast as she finishes her second week in the country. She flies back next week, and we accomplished a lot while she was here.

Sounds like you and Barb accomplished a lot and I’m sure you will miss her. I love the quietness out on the lake and we just paddle along the shores watching the wildlife. Very relaxing with my husband soulmate.

Lovely post. I am particularly drawn to the kayak life as well. My wife and I routinely go out in our yaks for much of the paddling season, which isn’t enough here in Minnesota. Even so, we take good advantage of it. Many a time we’ll pack our supper and paddle out someplace pretty, and just sort of drift along, whilst scarfing down a sandwich, and watching the ever changing scenery slowly dawdle by. I love it. Now all the lakes are frozen solid of course, and the kayaks are in storage. Snow blows across my driveway, and the temperatures descend below zero. Kayaking will have to wait a while. And I do miss it so. Aw well.

Oh, thank you, so much and I’m glad you enjoyed it! We love to go out to our local state park and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness. My husband has even fished in his kayak. Taking a lunch/supper out on the water sounds lovely as you listen to the sounds of nature. Spring can’t come soon enough!
